The Park

  • Lars Erling Mikkelsen

The beautiful romantic park at Bogstad Manor is one of the oldest English landscape parks in Norway. It was established by Peder Anker around 1780.  He introduced more than 400 rare trees and plants from abroad and the park became a model for a number of parks with ist typical winding paths, ponds and trees.

The ponds have been carefully restored with cascade and bridge. After the archeological excavations, registration and import of correct plantmoderial, it now expresses the feeling and atmosphere of a true 18th century park.
